The AALBORG (USA) P16S4 is a precision variable-area flow meter designed for oxygen analyzers and clean-room use. The options in model P16S4-TB0-052-07-ST are: 316 stainless steel housing (S4), bottom needle valve in stainless steel (TB0), sapphire flow tube (052), oxygen range 0.2–2 L/min (07), and PTFE / Kalrez seals (ST). PTFE and Kalrez are safe seal materials for oxygen service; ordinary rubber seals can carry grease residue, which raises the risk of combustion in oxygen-rich conditions.
The sapphire tube is rated to 20 bar, resists scratches and chemicals, and reads more clearly than a standard glass tube.

Choosing materials for oxygen service
Flow meters on oxygen lines must follow the oil-free (oxygen-clean) rule. Ordinary rubber seals such as NBR and EPDM contain oil components, which noticeably lower the ignition point in oxygen-rich, high-pressure conditions. The ST option on the P16S4 (PTFE + Kalrez) is the recommended seal choice for oxygen service: oil-free and chemically inert, a basic requirement for using an oxygen flow meter safely.
- Bottom needle valve (TB0): built into the lower body, so flow can be adjusted directly without a separate control valve.
- Sapphire flow tube (052): close to diamond in hardness, scratch and pressure resistant, and lasts far longer than a standard glass tube in chemical and medical settings.
