In one line: ABB AF series contactors use an electronic coil — AF09Z (9 A, DC 24 V), AF26 (26 A, 100–250 V) and AF116 (116 A, 100–250 V). The electronic coil draws much less power than a conventional coil, AF26 and AF116 accept AC or DC on the same coil, and built-in surge suppression is included, covering small machines up to 55 kW heavy-duty equipment.

Which model to choose
- AF09Z-30-10-30: small PLC-controlled loads up to 2.2 kW, driven directly from DC 24 V; suits densely packed control panels.
- AF26-30-00-13: mid-size motors up to 11 kW; the 100–250 V AC/DC coil works on 220 V (Taiwan), 110 V (Japan) and 230 V (Europe) supplies.
- AF116-30-00-13: heavy duty up to 55 kW, such as compressors, large pumps and main drives.
- Upstream protection: pair with ABB XT1N molded case or S201 miniature circuit breakers.
