PEEK (polyether ether ketone) capillary tubing, resistant to organic solvents with no metal ion leaching, for protein analysis, ion chromatography and other metal-sensitive applications.
White / natural capillary tubing with fittings is usually made of PEEK. Compared with stainless steel tubing, PEEK releases no metal ions and adsorbs less protein, nucleic acid and other biomolecules, making it an important alternative tubing material for HPLC / UHPLC bioanalysis. ⚠️ Please confirm the exact material, inner diameter and fitting specification with JIAHON before ordering.
PEEK vs stainless steel capillary tubing
| Property | PEEK (white / this product) | Stainless steel (green-coated version) |
|---|---|---|
| Material | Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) | 316 stainless steel |
| Metal ions | No metal ion leaching | Trace Fe/Ni/Cr may leach |
| Pressure limit | Typically ≤ 100 bar (not for UHPLC) | ≥ 400 bar, high pressure |
| Chemical resistance | Resists most organic solvents (avoid concentrated sulfuric acid, DCM) | Compatible with all solvents |
| Use | Protein, nucleic acid, metal-sensitive analysis | General HPLC, UHPLC, LC/MS |
| Visibility | Translucent, bubbles visible | Opaque |
⚠️ Note: PEEK tubing is not recommended for the UHPLC high-pressure section (> 100 bar); long-term contact with concentrated dichloromethane (DCM) and THF may cause PEEK to swell — confirm compatibility for your application. This is a general guideline.
