Bently Nevada 3500/42-04: 4-channel monitor I/O with internal barriers

“3500/42-04” is a Bently Nevada ordering code, not a full part number. In the 3500/42 Proximitor/Seismic monitor, the “04” is the I/O module option: an I/O module with internal barriers, four proximity or acceleration channels and internal terminations (part number 135489-01). This page explains what that option is, what it needs and what to check, so that you can check it against your rack before you ask for a quote.

JIAHON is not an authorized distributor of Bently Nevada. Bently Nevada is a Baker Hughes product line.

What “04” means in the ordering code

The datasheet writes the order code as 3500/42 – AA – BB. AA is the I/O module type and BB is the hazardous-area approval.

Key points for option 04

ItemDatasheet value
Monitor3500/42M Proximitor/Seismic monitor, 4 channels, programmed in two pairs
Channels on option 044 proximity or acceleration channels. Velomitor channels need option 05 or 06
FunctionsRadial vibration, thrust position, differential expansion, eccentricity, REBAM, circular acceptance region, acceleration, velocity, shaft absolute. Each channel pair is programmed with one function
TerminationInternal only. The external-termination option is not available for I/O modules with internal barriers
Recorder outputOne 4 to 20 mA output per channel
Power7.7 W typical (monitor)
Operating temperature0 °C to +65 °C with internal-barrier I/O modules (monitors with other I/O modules: −30 °C to +65 °C)
Storage temperature−40 °C to +85 °C
Humidity95 %, non-condensing

Hazardous-area approval

The hazardous-area approval is chosen with the BB digits of the order code (see the table above). This page does not state an approval for any product. Send us the full code and we will confirm it against Bently Nevada’s documents before we quote.

What else the rack needs

  • A 3500/04-01 IS Earthing Module in a dedicated monitor position in each rack that uses internal-barrier I/O modules.
  • Rack Configuration software revision 2.3 or later.

Transducers

The datasheet for the internal barriers lists these for the 3500/42M: 3300 XL Proximitor, 3300 5 mm, 3300 XL 8 mm, 3300 RAM and 7200 5 mm and 8 mm Proximitor sensors; 23733-03, 330400 and 330425 acceleration transducers; and 49578-01 with the 86517 interface module. It lists 11, 14, 16, 25, 35 and 50 mm Proximitor sensors as not supported. Velomitor sensors are on options 05 and 06, not on option 04.

Check before you ask for a quote

  1. Confirm the full code you need, including AA and BB (for example 04 and the approval digit).
  2. Confirm that your rack has an IS Earthing Module position free and the software is at revision 2.3 or later.
  3. Confirm the transducer type and size against the lists above.
