The CHINT NP2-ES542 is a 22 mm emergency stop button in the NP2 series, with a Ø40 mm red plastic mushroom head, a push-lock, turn-reset mechanism and a 1NC (normally closed) contact. Compared with similar emergency stop buttons, the key difference of the NP2-ES542 is that its protection rating is only IP40 (protected against solid objects ≥1 mm, not waterproof), so it is suited to control panels in dry indoor environments and not recommended where there is moisture, dust spray or outdoor exposure. It suits large-quantity installation on standard indoor control panels.

IP40 limitation: the NP2-ES542 is rated IP40 — it is not protected against water or oil spray. If the installation environment involves washdown, moisture or dust, choose an emergency stop button rated IP65 or higher (such as Schneider XB4BS8442, IP67/69K, or IDEC YW1B-V4E02R, IP65).
Where to use it
- Indoor control panels: electrical rooms, distribution rooms and office-type equipment control panels with no moisture or dust
- Large-quantity installations: where many machines need a uniform, standardized emergency stop and there is no special protection requirement
- Not suitable: factory production lines (coolant spray), outdoor equipment, food plants (washdown)
