Pockets 31–45 mm: parts with some weight
Parts in this range are usually not just micro electronic components but mechanical parts, electrical contacts or molded housings with some size and weight. With 31–45 mm pockets, each tray has fewer pockets (usually 25–100), and each pocket often holds a more important part number in the process.
With larger parts, inspectors can check appearance through the clear pocket walls without taking each part out and putting it back, for incoming inspection and pre-shipment full inspection.

Two common pocket selection mistakes
Looking only at length and ignoring depth: pocket sizes in the specification table are length × width × depth (mm). If only length and width are checked and the part is taller than the pocket, the top of the part touches the bottom of the tray above when stacked and can be scratched or pressed during handling. Allow 1–2 mm more depth than the part’s maximum height.
More pockets is always better? More pockets mean smaller pockets and less room for parts to move, which seems more protective. But trays with many pockets are often large and awkward to use on a workbench or conveyor. Choose the pocket count by the quantity kitted per operation, not by the maximum number of pockets.
