ESD replacement seats let you replace just the seat instead of the whole chair or stool. When a seat wears or cracks but the legs and gas lift still work, you can replace only the seat. This page covers PU foam replacement seats: four-hole, Chinese-knot, handle-hole and saddle wave seats, plus a replacement seat for four-leg stools, 5 seat types in all, with custom versions available. Each item is the seat only, without legs, gas lift, casters or base.
Seat dimensions, hole spacing and fixing method are not labeled by the manufacturer, so this page gives no figures; ask us whether a seat fits your chair or stool (a photo of the underside of your old seat speeds things up). To replace the whole chair or stool, see height-adjustable round stools (four-hole seat), seat styles, saddle, handle and horn seats, or ESD four-leg stools. What each seat looks like
- Four-hole seat: a round PU foam seat with four holes. For the complete stool with this seat, see height-adjustable round stools (four-hole seat).
- Chinese-knot seat: a round PU foam seat with a raised Chinese-knot pattern. For the complete adjustable round stool with this seat, see seat styles.
- Handle-hole seat: a handle hole at the back edge so you can move the stool aside easily. For the complete stool, see saddle, handle and horn seats.
- Saddle wave seat (one-piece molded): low at the front, high at the back, with horizontal ribs, labeled by the manufacturer as one-piece molded. For the complete saddle (wave) seat stool, see saddle, handle and horn seats.
How to check whether it fits
- Shape: check whether your old seat is round, has a handle hole or is saddle-shaped, and compare it with the five seats above.
- Size and holes: measure the old seat’s diameter (or length and width), and count the fixing holes on the underside and their positions. This page gives no sizes, so send us your measurements.
- Fixing method: is the seat screwed to a base plate or fixed some other way? Take a photo of the underside of the old seat and attach it to your inquiry.
- When replacing the whole chair is better: if the legs, gas lift or casters are also broken, choose a complete chair or stool instead; see “Complete chair or stool with the same seat” above.
Use with
- A chair is only complete when grounded; for grounding methods and height references, see the ESD swivel chair specification sheet.
- Work surfaces: ESD workbench series, topped with ESD table mats.
- When seated, ground your wrist with an antistatic wrist strap (for cleanrooms).
FAQ
Is this page selling complete chairs? No. This page is replacement seats; each item is the seat only, without legs, gas lift, casters or base. To buy a complete chair or stool, see height-adjustable round stools (four-hole seat), saddle, handle and horn seats, or ESD four-leg stools.
Will it fit my chair or stool? Seat dimensions, hole spacing and fixing method are not labeled by the manufacturer, so ask us. Include a photo of the underside of the old seat, the seat diameter (or length and width) and the fixing hole positions, and we’ll help confirm.
Is there a surface resistance value or test report? For the four-hole, Chinese-knot and handle-hole seats, the manufacturer labels surface resistance at 1.0×10^4–1.0×10^5 Ω; the saddle wave and four-leg stool seats are not labeled, so ask us. There is no test report; measurements may vary with tolerances, tools and methods.
Can you customize the color, size or add a logo? Yes, contact us. When requesting a quote, tell us the seat shape, color, size and quantity.
Can they be used in cleanrooms? This page makes no cleanroom class claim; if you need them for a cleanroom, tell us the cleanliness class and we will confirm.
How to request a quote: please tell us the seat type, send a photo of the underside of the old seat, the seat size and fixing holes, the color and the quantity.
