ESD cleanroom garments

Polyester filament with woven conductive fiber, in jackets, coats, hooded coveralls and two-piece suits.

Cleanroom garments (also called cleanroom suits, ESD garments or antistatic workwear) are worn in cleanrooms to reduce skin flakes, hair and clothing fibers from people entering the clean environment. The garments on this page are made of polyester filament with woven conductive fiber, in stripe or grid patterns. Styles include long-sleeve jackets, long-sleeve coats (round collar or stand collar), front-opening hooded coveralls and two-piece suits (long-sleeve lapel top + pants), in sizes S to 5XL.

  • Fabric: polyester filament with woven conductive fiber, grid weave.
  • Pattern: stripe, or grid (3 mm / 5 mm grid pitch on request). Choose the pitch according to your plant’s ESD control requirements.
  • Test report: a 2019 fabric test report (triboelectric voltage and surface resistance) is available on request; see the FAQ for test conditions.

Choose a style

Answer three questions first: ① the cleanliness class of the work area (Class 100 / 1000 / 10000); ② whether the area has ESD control requirements; ③ whether you need full-body coverage (coverall) or a top only.

What determines the price?

Quotes for cleanroom garments can differ a lot, and the difference comes from four specifications, not from the label:

  1. Style and fabric use: a hooded coverall uses the most fabric, a mid-length coat less, a short jacket the least.
  2. Conductive fiber pitch: stripe, 5 mm grid or 3 mm grid, chosen by your ESD control rules.
  3. Single items or full sets: a top alone is priced differently from a top + cap + shoe covers set.
  4. Quantity and size mix: one style ordered together is priced differently from a few mixed sizes.

When you ask for a quote, include these four: cleanliness class; style (jacket / coat / coverall / two-piece, and whether as a set); ESD requirement (which pitch); quantity and size mix.

FAQ

Do we have to wear cleanroom garments in a cleanroom? That depends on your cleanliness class and plant rules. People are one of the main sources of cleanroom contamination; cleanroom garments reduce skin flakes, hair and fibers entering the clean environment.

What is the test report on this page? It is a fabric report issued in June 2019 by a testing laboratory. The samples were blue 0.5 stripe and 0.5 grid antistatic fabric, unwashed. Tests were triboelectric voltage and surface resistance, to GB/T 12703.5-2010 and GB/T 12703.4-2010, at 22.0 °C and 38% RH. The report covers fabric samples, not finished garments, and does not include particle shedding or cleanliness class. Results apply only to the samples tested.

How often should cleanroom garments be washed? There is no universal number; it depends on your cleanliness class and plant rules. IEST-RP-CC003.4 describes cleanroom garments and their care and can be used as a reference. Washing method and maximum wash count are not listed on this page; please ask us.

Can you print or embroider, or make other styles, colors or sizes? Ask us. Special orders outside the listed styles, colors and sizes (including printing and embroidery) have a minimum order of 100 pieces. Ask us about two-piece suits.
