ESD grounding plugs (earth bonding plugs): UK, EU, US and CN types, with 3-, 5- and 7-point ground sockets

What is an ESD grounding plug?

An ESD grounding plug (also called an ESD earth bonding plug) plugs into a wall socket and connects the socket’s earth terminal to snap studs on the plug body; wrist strap and antistatic mat ground cords then snap onto the studs.

  • With safety resistor (yellow): UK, EU, US and CN plug types.
  • Dual-circuit grounding socket (European type).
  • 3-point ground socket, 5-point ground socket (ground plate), PU 7-point ground socket.

FAQ

How do I connect an ESD grounding plug? Plug the grounding plug into the wall socket; the socket’s earth terminal connects to the snap studs on the plug body, and wrist strap cords and mat ground cords snap onto the studs. Before use, confirm the wall socket’s earth wiring is correct.

UK, EU, US or CN: which do I need? Choose by your wall socket type. Wall sockets in Taiwan are type A and B at 110 V, the same voltage as the US. The UK, EU, US and CN in the style names refer to the plug shape; ask us before ordering to confirm it matches.

What’s the difference between plugs with and without a resistor? Plugs with a resistor have a resistor in series between the snap stud and the earth terminal; versions without a resistor are also on the market. The four plug types on this page include a safety resistor; ask us to confirm the resistor specification.

How do 3-, 5- and 7-point ground sockets differ? 3, 5 and 7 are the number of connection points on the socket; choose by how many wrist straps and mats each workstation needs to connect. Ask us to confirm the actual connection layout.
