Metal pieces for evaporation and melting experiments
Aluminum pieces (8 × 8 mm, uniform shape), tin pieces and titanium pieces are common high-purity metal stock in research laboratories, for vacuum thermal evaporation sources, arc melting, metallurgy experiments and sample preparation for composition analysis. They come in 100 g, 500 g and 1000 g so you can match the quantity to the scale of your experiment.
Specifications
| Material | Size / shape | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| High-purity aluminum | 8 × 8 mm uniform pieces | 100 g, 500 g, 1000 g |
| High-purity tin | Pieces | 100 g, 500 g, 1000 g |
| High-purity titanium | Pieces | 500 g, 1000 g |
How to choose
- Aluminum: the uniform 8 × 8 mm shape makes it easy to calculate fill quantity and weigh.
- Tin: low melting point (232°C), for quick casting and low-temperature solder research.
- Titanium: hard and corrosion-resistant, for arc melting titanium alloy samples and aerospace material tests.
- All three can be used as evaporation sources; buy the quantity your evaporator needs to avoid oxidation losses from overstocking.
