Uniform granules that are easy to measure and load
High-purity aluminum granules come as uniform cubes in three sizes — 1 × 1, 2 × 2 and 3 × 3 mm — in 100 g, 500 g and 1000 g. Uniform granules are easy to measure and load into evaporation crucibles, and are a common source form for vacuum thermal evaporation of aluminum thin films; they are also used as arc melting charges for aluminum alloys and as sintering precursors in powder metallurgy. High-purity zinc granules (3 × 3 mm) are used for galvanizing experiments, thermal spray feedstock and melting zinc-containing alloys.

How to choose
- 1 × 1 mm: high packing density, for small tungsten boats and crucibles.
- 3 × 3 mm: larger, easy to count with tweezers or a measuring cup, for weighing charges before arc melting.
- Zinc: low melting point (420°C), suitable for resistance-heated evaporation; used in anti-corrosion galvanizing experiments and Zn-Al alloy melting.
