Where VGA is still used
Consumer equipment has moved to HDMI and DisplayPort, but VGA (D-Sub 15-pin) is still an active interface in industrial control, classrooms, projectors, KVM switches and some measurement systems. When replacing the equipment would be costly and unnecessary, a VGA cable is the direct way to keep a stable signal.

How to choose
VGA resolution limit is 1920×1200: VGA is an analog interface, and longer cables lose more signal. The 3 m version still carries 1920×1200 reliably; beyond 5 m, use an active VGA amplifier or switch to a digital interface.
Shielding affects image clarity: as an analog signal, VGA is more sensitive to electromagnetic interference than digital interfaces. The LINDY VGA cable uses copper-clad steel braid shielding, which resists interference better than a single aluminum foil layer — suited to equipment-dense industrial sites and teaching labs. Nickel-plated phosphor bronze contacts withstand daily plugging in classrooms and meeting rooms.
With KVM switches: switching may interrupt the signal each time. We suggest pairing with an EDID emulator (see LINDY adapters) to stop the resolution from changing after a switch.
Length: 2 m for desktop or short connections; 3 m for classroom lectern to projector or workstation to rack monitor. For more than 3 m, consider a digital interface (HDMI / DP) or an active extension solution.
