Mitsubishi servo motors HC / HF / HG series | 0.1–2 kW, 22-bit encoder, IP65/67, brake versions, for CNC / robots
Mitsubishi Electric servo motors are divided by generation into three main series: HC (for MR-J2), HF (for MR-J3) and HG (for MR-J4 / MR-JE). When selecting, first confirm the amplifier generation, then choose by power, inertia (low / medium inertia), brake requirement (required for vertical axes) and shaft type (straight / keyed). This page covers common models plus matching cables.
Note: brake versions usually carry “B” in the model (e.g. HC-MFS43B); vertical / gravity axes must use a brake version.
Servo motor models (main models)
| Model | Series | Power | Speed | Brake | Shaft | Protection | Main applications |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HC-KFS73 | HC | 0.75 kW | 3000 rpm | No | Straight | IP65 | CNC, low inertia, high response |
| HC-MFS13 | HC | 0.1 kW | 3000 rpm | No | Straight | IP65 | Light-load robot joints |
| HC-MFS43B | HC | 0.4 kW | 3000 rpm | Yes | Straight | IP65 | Vertical axis positioning |
| HC-MFS43K | HC | 0.4 kW | 3000 rpm | No | Keyed | IP65 | Keyed shaft loads |
| HF-KP43K | HF | 0.4 kW | 3000 rpm | No | Keyed | IP65 | High accuracy, 350% overload |
| HG-KN23J-K | HG | 0.2 kW | 3000 rpm | No | Keyed | IP67 | 22-bit, precision machinery |
| HG-KN43J-K | HG | 0.4 kW | 3000 rpm | No | Keyed | IP67 | CNC spindle, high resolution |

Other part numbers in this series (motors and cables): HG-KR73, HG-KN43, MR-J3ENCBL, MR-PWS1CBL, HG-SN102, HG-KR43, HG-SN102J-K, HG-SR352BK, HG-KN43BJ-K, HG-KN73BJ-K, HG-KN73BJ-S100, HG-SR202B-K, MR-BKS1CBL10M-A2-H, MR-PWS1CBL15M-A2-H, MR-PWS1CBL25M-A1-H, MR-J3ENCBL25M-A1-H, MR-J2M-BU4, HG-KR43J, HG-KR73J, HG-SN102J-S100, HG-SR352BJ, HG-KN43BJ-S100.
Selection notes
- Brake version (B in model): required for vertical axes, inclined axes or wherever position must be held after power-off; otherwise the motor shaft moves down under gravity when power is lost
- Keyed shaft (K suffix) vs. straight shaft: choose a keyed shaft for pulleys or gears, a straight shaft for direct coupling
- IP67 vs. IP65: the HG series is mostly IP67 and can withstand temporary immersion; HC / HF series are IP65, protected against water jets but not immersion
- 22-bit vs. 17-bit encoder: the HG series 22-bit resolution is 4,194,304 pulses/rev, far more precise than the 17-bit (131,072 pulses/rev) of HC / HF
