OMRON E5 series temperature controllers
The OMRON E5 series is offered here in four types: the DIN-rail E5DC (22.5 mm wide), the 48 × 48 mm panel-mount E5CS, the 96 × 96 mm large-display E5AC and the 48 × 48 mm standard E5CC. All accept thermocouple / RTD input; the E5DC, E5AC and E5CC also accept analog input. PID auto-tuning is done with one key, for industrial heating processes such as injection molding, ovens and heating stages.

Maintenance tips
The following are based on the E5CC / E5EC / E5AC / E5DC manuals; for the E5CS, please ask us.
- Clean the case only with a dry soft cloth. Do not use thinner, benzene, alcohol or cleaners containing organic solvents — the case may deform or discolor.
- The temperature display is not stable right after power-up; allow at least 30 minutes of warm-up before actual control. The supply must reach rated voltage within 2 seconds; a slow rise may prevent a proper reset.
- s.err indicates an input error: check the sensor for broken wires, short circuits or wrong wiring, and confirm the input type setting. If all is correct, cycle the power; if it does not recover, send it for repair.
- e111 (memory) or e333 (A/D conversion) errors: cycle the power. If the display recovers, the cause is usually electrical noise in the field; if not, send it for repair.
- (E5CC / E5EC / E5AC) To keep the IP66 front panel rating, the waterproof packing must be installed (on the E5EC / E5AC, also close the setting cover). The packing hardens with age; the manual suggests replacing it every 3 years or sooner. The E5DC is not waterproof.
- Relay outputs have a limited electrical life; beyond it they may weld or burn out, so do not exceed the rated load. With relay output, set the control period to 20 seconds or more (default 20 s); with SSR voltage output the default is 2 seconds and can be set shorter for finer control.
