Why ESD nozzles: the body of an ESD (anti-static) nozzle is made of a conductive material. When it picks and places static-sensitive components such as CMOS ICs, RF parts and MOSFETs, it gives static a path to discharge, which prevents charge buildup from damaging the parts or causing latent ESD damage. E230CSN and E230CN are two ESD nozzle types commonly used on the Panasonic CM series. They mount the same way as standard nozzles and need no special tools.

Note: when you use ESD nozzles, make sure the grounding path of the placement head is complete and use them as part of a full ESD-protected workstation setup; only then are static-sensitive parts properly protected. Ask us if you need a complete ESD protection setup.
