Squeegee end plates (solder dams) fit on both ends of the squeegee head on Panasonic SPG printers. At the end of each squeegee stroke they stop solder paste from spilling over the sides of the squeegee and off the stencil, so each stroke deposits a consistent amount of paste. They also keep the work area clean and stop paste from contaminating the stencil clamping mechanism.
Because the end plates rub against the stencil edge constantly, their edges wear and the seal weakens; paste then leaks sideways, print volume becomes unstable, and paste can even contaminate the wiping paper under the stencil. Check end plate wear at each maintenance, and replace them as soon as they are damaged to keep print quality stable. Sold 2 per set, for replacing the left and right sides of the squeegee head together.
About the SPG printer: the Panasonic SPG is a high-speed, three-lane stencil printer with a hybrid squeegee head, using uni-floating printing and supporting automatic print condition correction (APC). It is a core printing machine on high-speed SMT lines.
