PP woven bulk bag (FIBC): open top, flat bottom, 4 loops, 1200 kg

The body is woven from flat polypropylene tape and sewn into a bag with 4 lift loops, so it can be lifted directly by forklift or crane. Safe working loads (SWL) range from 500 to 1500 kg. This bag is the single-trip open top + flat bottom configuration, for one-time collection and disposal of plant waste. Typical contents include factory waste, metal chips, plastic pellets, chemical raw materials and sand.

Specifications (typical range)

ItemRange

Fabric weight130–220 g/m² (general industrial); UV treatment optional
ConstructionOpen top + flat bottom (this bag)
Other optionsTop spout / bottom discharge spout / conical bottom / side fill openings (custom)
SWL500, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500 kg (general case; depends on the application)
Safety factorSingle trip 5:1 / multi-trip 6:1 to 8:1

Values are typical ranges for PP woven bulk bags; actual load, size and configuration depend on the application.

How PP woven fabric is made

PP resin → extruded film → stretched and slit into flat tape (1.5–3 mm wide) → woven on a loom (130–220 g/m²) → sewn into a bag. It works like a traditional jute sack, with PP instead of natural fiber.

Pros: high strength (stretching orients the molecules), resists most chemicals, does not absorb water, recyclable. Cons: poor UV resistance (becomes brittle after 3–6 months outdoors) unless treated with carbon black or UV stabilizer.

Typical uses in electronics plants

UseRecommendation
SMT line waste (solder paste residue, used fixtures, cleaning consumables)Single-trip bag so residue does not carry over; choose the right Type for the contents; antistatic bags on request
Metal recovery from dismantled machines1200–1500 kg heavy-duty bag with PE liner against moisture and rust
Chemicals / neutralized sludgePE liner against leaks + top spout to limit evaporation
Packaging / carton recyclingLow-density loads can be filled to the top; 500–1000 kg class is usually enough

Safety factor: 5:1 vs 6:1 vs 8:1

Safety factorNumber of usesTypical use
5:1Single trip (1)Waste, contaminated residue
6:1Multi-trip (5–10)Metal chips, plastic pellets, raw materials
8:1Multi-trip (10+)Food, pharmaceuticals, high-value materials

A 1000 kg 5:1 bag must withstand 5000 kg before failure. A single-trip bag costs less per bag, but a 6:1 bag reused 5–10 times can cost less per trip (general case). This bag is single trip (5:1); 6:1 / 8:1 bags are available on request.

Antistatic Type A / B / C / D (IEC 61340-4-4)

TypeStatic controlPowder MIEGrounding
Type ANoneNot for combustible powders—
Type BLow breakdown voltagePowders with MIE > 3 mJ (not where flammable gas or solvent vapor is present)No
Type CConductive threadsAny MIE (also IIA / IIB flammable gas or vapor, MIE ≥ 0.14 mJ)Yes (must be grounded)
Type DStatic-dissipative threadsSame as Type CNo

For combustible powders (such as waste contaminated with organic solvents), use Type C or D; for general waste, metal chips and plastic pellets Type A is enough. Type C must be grounded, so the site needs ESD grounding points. Please confirm the antistatic type of this bag when you request a quote; Type B / C / D bags are available on request.

Use and storage tips

  • Do not overload: 1200 kg is the SWL; fill by weight, not volume. Dense materials (metal, sand) reach the limit half full.
  • Fill evenly: uneven loading overstresses one loop and can break the stitching.
  • UV outdoors: untreated PP becomes brittle after 3–6 months in the sun; choose a UV-treated bag (on request) or cover it.
  • Stacking: 1–2 high inside the plant; the bottom bag must be full and stable. Stacking 3 or more needs bags designed for it (reinforced corners, on request).
