How to choose a ring lug thermocouple
A ring lug thermocouple (washer type, crimp terminal thermocouple) has its sensing end built into a ring crimp terminal, which is screwed onto a threaded hole or fixing point on the object being measured; the lead ends in fork terminals. This page offers two sensor types, K-type thermocouple and PT100 platinum RTD, each in several lead lengths.

How to pick
Sensor type: must match your instrument input, either K-type thermocouple or PT100 platinum RTD (PT100 is a platinum resistance sensor, not a thermocouple; this page keeps “thermocouple” as its main term and lists the types separately). Lead length: choose by the distance from the fixing point to the instrument. Terminal hole size: please state it in the order notes.
