RT-7000 automatic tape cutter: cut-length test on polyimide tape

This page reports a cut-length test that JIAHON’s technical quality department ran on an RT-7000 automatic tape cutter. The report was published on 16 April 2026. The RT-7000 belongs to the RT-7000 / RT-7700 / RT-3700 family of automatic tape cutters.

Test set-up

ItemDetail
MachineRT-7000 automatic tape cutter, a unit picked at random from the production line
MaterialPolyimide (Kapton-type) tape, 20 mm wide. It is sticky and builds up static charge easily, which makes it a hard tape to cut cleanly
Cut lengths3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm
Number of cuts30 cuts at each length, 90 in total
MethodRepeated cutting in a simulated continuous-production run

What the numbers show

  • Spread. The standard deviation was 0.05 to 0.06 cm at all three lengths, and the range of each group was 0.2 cm.
  • Offset from the set length. At 3 cm and 4 cm the mean was about 0.08 to 0.09 cm longer than the set length. At 5 cm the mean was within 0.01 cm of the set length.
  • Sensing. In all 90 cuts the machine detected the tape and cut it. No fault was seen during the test.

What this test does not show

It covers one machine, one type of tape, one width and three lengths, with 30 cuts at each length. The report does not state a tolerance, the measuring instrument or the cutting speed, so it should not be read as a specification of the machine. If you need a cut-length tolerance for your own tape and length, tell us the tape, the width and the length, and we can discuss a trial.
