Self-fusing silicone tape

Seals leaks on water pipes and joints without shutting off the water.

For leaks on hot and cold water pipes, heating pipes, drains, taps or cast-iron pipes, one roll of self-fusing tape gives a quick repair without shutting off the water.

How it works

Unlike ordinary tape, self-fusing tape has no adhesive. Stretch it tight and wrap it over the leak, layer on layer; the layers fuse with each other into one continuous waterproof layer within 24 hours. No pipe replacement is needed.

Features

  • No adhesive, fuses to itself: seals by fusing between layers, not by sticking to the surface.
  • Wide temperature range: −50 °C to 200 °C; designed not to crack in cold or deform in heat.
  • UV resistant: resists sunlight for outdoor use.
  • Silicone material: the tape itself is not sticky; after tight wrapping it fuses into one piece.

Where to use it

  • Drain and sewer pipe leaks
  • Hoses and water supply pipes
  • Hot and cold water pipes and heating pipes
  • Leaks at taps and pipe joints
  • Cast-iron and PVC pipes

Notes

  • For sealing only; not for sticking paper or everyday items.
  • Leave it for 24 hours before testing water pressure.
  • To check fusion, cut a small section with a knife after 24 hours and look at whether the cross-section has become one piece.

FAQ

Does self-fusing tape work? Used in the right place, yes. The silicone tape is not sticky; wrapped tightly, it fuses into one piece and can seal pipes and joints or stop leaks temporarily without shutting off the water.

How is it different from ordinary waterproof tape? Ordinary tape sticks to the surface with adhesive. Self-fusing tape has no adhesive and seals by fusing layer to layer, so it only works where it can be wrapped around pipes and joints.
