Siemens 3SE5112 limit switch | plastic roller / 200 mm aluminum rod lever, M20, IP66/67, with 3SE5000 contact block

The Siemens SIRIUS 3SE5 limit switch series is modular: the actuator head (3SE5112) and the contact block (3SE5000) are purchased and replaced separately. In practice, when an actuator head is damaged by impact, only the head needs replacing — the contact block stays in use, which lowers spare-parts cost.

Note: the actuator head (3SE5112) and contact block (3SE5000) are ordered separately and replaced individually.

Where the 200 mm aluminum rod lever (CH80) is used

The 200 mm aluminum rod lever of the 3SE5112-0CH80 suits mechanisms with a long stroke, or installations where the switch is mounted far from the actuation point. The long lever also lowers the actuating force, so it can be used on light mechanisms or for early-warning end-of-travel detection.

3SE5000-0AD contact block: 15 million operations

With snap-action contacts, the switching speed does not depend on how fast the actuator moves — whether the lever moves slowly or quickly, the contacts switch at a fixed, stable speed. A mechanical life of 15 million operations is the design rating of the 3SE5000-0AD, which matters on high-frequency conveyors and indexing mechanisms.

  • Spare-parts strategy: the 3SE5000 contact block is the high-wear part and is worth keeping in stock; the actuator head usually lasts longer.
  • 1NO + 1NC: one contact block can drive both an “in position” circuit (NO) and a “safety stop” circuit (NC).
