SIEMENS QRA10M.C UV flame detector
The SIEMENS QRA10M.C is a high-sensitivity ultraviolet (UV) flame detector for flame safety supervision on oil and gas burners. After ignition, the detector senses UV radiation from the flame through its UV tube and allows the burner to keep running only while a flame is present; if the flame goes out, the control system shuts off the fuel supply immediately, preventing unburned gas from accumulating.
The QRA10M.C is the high-sensitivity version (M = high sensitivity), for weak flame signals — for example when the detector is far from the flame or its view is partly obstructed. The standard-sensitivity version is the QRA10.C. Both look the same; they differ in the internal UV tube.

Maintenance note: the UV tube is a wear part. Keeping a spare detector on site helps avoid boiler downtime.
Selection note: if the flame signal is strong (the detector sees the flame directly at short distance), the standard QRA10.C is sufficient. For weak signals (long distance, obstruction), choose the high-sensitivity QRA10M.C. The high-sensitivity type is more susceptible to interference from ignition sparks and welding arcs, so shield it appropriately during installation.
