Meter-in vs. meter-out
- Meter-out (exhaust throttling): controls the exhaust-side flow for smooth cylinder motion. This is the recommended standard method for cylinder speed control and suits vertical lowering or loaded applications.
- Meter-in (supply throttling): controls the supply-side flow; usable for light-load horizontal movement. With heavy loads it may cause stick-slip (jerky motion), so evaluate carefully.
- The AS3002F-08 supports both; choose the installation direction to suit your needs. Confirm the control direction of the AS4201F-04-10SA with us before ordering.
Installation and maintenance
- One-touch fittings: insert the tube to lock it; press the release ring to remove it quickly — no tools needed.
- AS4201F-04-10SA push-lock: after setting the speed, push the large knob to lock it so machine vibration does not shift the setting.
- Tubing: nylon, soft nylon and polyurethane tubing can be used; check that the tubing suits the working temperature range.
- Spares: speed controllers are adjustment components that wear; keep one spare for each cylinder port.
