This page covers stainless steel sheet in three grades, 304, 316 and 316L, from 5 μm (0.005 mm) to 5 mm thick. 304 is also available with one mirror-finished face. Standard versions of all three grades come in 1 m rolls for continuous processes or large sampling.
Choosing
- Grades: 304, 316 and 316L, plus 304 with one mirror face. 304 is the common general-purpose grade; 316 adds molybdenum for better pitting resistance; 316L is the low-carbon version, used for welded parts.
- Sizes: 0.005 to 5 mm thick. Squares are 100 × 100 mm; 1 m rolls come in widths of 100, 200 and 210 mm.
- Typical uses: universities and research labs use the sheets for battery current collectors (electrode substrates), laser cutting samples and MEMS prototypes. Precision shims for mold adjustment, equipment installation and electronic parts also use stainless steel sheet.

About 1 m rolls: 304, 316 and 316L are available in 1 m lengths, in widths of 100, 200 and 210 mm, for continuous sampling or longer test pieces. Please confirm the width you need before ordering; some 1 m roll sizes are not the same as the square sizes.
