How well an industrial pure water system’s guard filtration works depends on the retention rating and structural strength of the pre-filter cartridge. The COTTON I/N: 103 string-wound filter cartridge is wound from quality cotton fiber on an SS304 stainless steel core, which resists corrosion and does not deform under water pressure. At 2.5″ OD × 1″ ID × 30″ long (approx. 762 mm), it fits industry-standard pre-filter housings. With a 25 μm rating it retains suspended particles, sand and colloidal impurities, protecting downstream RO membranes and precision equipment from particle damage.
Usage tip: string-wound cartridges remove larger suspended particles and usually serve as pre-filters protecting RO membranes or fine melt-blown cartridges. Replace them regularly according to water quality, so that a high pressure drop does not reduce the efficiency of downstream equipment.
