Siemens SINAMICS S120 drive modules integrate motor drive, the DRIVE-CLiQ communication interface and Safety Integrated functions in a compact Booksize format, supporting multi-axis synchronized control and SIL2 / PL d safety certification. The 6SL3120 series offers two output current ratings, 18 A and 45 A, for CNC, packaging machines, automated machining and other applications that need precise speed and position control.
Note: multiple motor modules share a Control Unit and a DC busbar, with multi-axis synchronization via DRIVE-CLiQ.

Key functions
- DRIVE-CLiQ interface: Siemens’ proprietary motor feedback communication interface; when connected to the motor encoder it identifies motor parameters automatically, eliminating manual entry of motor data and shortening commissioning time.
- Safety Integrated (SIL2 / PL d): safety functions are built into the drive module, so STO (Safe Torque Off) and other safety functions are available without an external safety relay, meeting machinery safety directive requirements for export machines that need CE safety certification.
- Multi-axis synchronized control: multiple motor modules share the same DC busbar and Control Unit, with very small synchronization error between axes, for multi-axis equipment that needs strict position synchronization (such as gantry machines and printing presses).
